Romania's IBAN has 24 characters in the format ROkk BBBB CCCC CCCC CCCC CCCC. After RO and two check digits come a 4-letter SWIFT bank code (e.g. BTRL for Banca Transilvania, BRDE for BRD, RNCB for BCR) and the 16-character account number. Romania has been in SEPA since joining the EU in 2007, but is not yet in the euro area — the leu (RON) remains the currency.
